Aiming to unite music fans around the world with a unique showcase of China’s best performers, CCURRENTT is the world’s first multi-city contemporary Chinese music and arts festival. Beginning in London on October 15th, the festival will stop in Los Angeles on October 28th, before heading to Sydney for the finale on November 26th.
Serving as the first festival of its kind, CCURRENTT will feature Chinese artists across several different genres. The full lineup consists of Jolin Tsai, BEAUZ, Digi Ghetto (Mac Ova Seas, Mula Sakee, Thomeboydontkill), DXX, GALI, and The Life Journey.
Jolin Tsai, whose career has spanned almost 20 years, is titled the Queen of C-Pop for a reason. The singer, dancer, and songwriter is a global fashion icon and pop superstar, and she has been selling out tour stops on her Ugly Beauty world tour since it began in 2019. BEAUZ is an American DJ duo, comprised of brothers Bernie and Johan Yang, who’s made their mark in the EDM world with various collaborations with fellow DJs like Zedd. Digi Ghetto is a newer Chinese rapper who has broken out onto the Chinese hip hop scene. He won numerous rookie awards in 2022, including QQ Music’s New Voice of the Year. Described as a singer, dancer, and actor, DXX most recently gained attention for his appearances on shows such as Street Dance of China Season 3. Another reality TV competition show veteran, GALI first came into the spotlight when he won third place on Rap of China in 2020. Finally, The Life Journey is a veteran indie band, having formed in 2005. The group has been making music for more than fifteen years, but it wasn’t until their participation in competition show Big Band in 2019 that they began to see more mainstream success, now becoming one of China’s most recognized indie rock bands.
