Aespa Embarks on First U.S. Tour Late Summer 2023

SM Entertainment girl group Aespa will be heading off on their first ever U.S. tour this year. The SYNK : HYPER LINE tour will move stateside mid-August, kicking off in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena and wrapping up the U.S. leg in New York. The global tour will continue to Mexico, South America, and Europe afterwards.

Aespa debuted in 2020 with their song “Black Mamba,” which broke records right off the bat. Their 2021 EP, Savage, set off their uphill climb, becoming the highest ranking Kpop girl group entry on the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S. and hitting the number one spot in 20 countries on iTunes upon release. Continuing this momentum, the group also became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York in 2021, and they won their first and second Daesang awards at that year’s Asia Artist Awards and MelOn Music Awards. The four members earned even more achievements in 2022, starting off with more awards at the Golden Disc Awards and the Korean Music Awards, including Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. The group performed at the world famous Coachella music festival in April, as part of 88rising’s joint set on the main stage, and the group was included in Time Magazine’s Next Generation Leaders list as well as Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

The four members have also earned many achievements in 2023, despite it not even being halfway through. To date, the group has been announced to perform at the Governors Ball Music Festival and the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival this year, being the first K-pop group to perform at either of the two events. In February, the group held their first solo concert at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul. In March and April, they continued their tour in Japan, selling out ten shows across the country. The girl group even announced an encore for later this year at the Tokyo Dome, which makes them the quickest K-pop artist and the first of the fourth generation to hold a solo show at the venue. On May 8th, Aespa released their third EP, My World, with lead single “Spicy.” The song already has over ten million Spotify streams, and the music video currently sits at 69.5 million views.
