Vania Fong The overwhelming popularity of Filipino boy group SB19 signals the rise of P-Pop (Pinoy pop) in the global music scene. Consisting of five members, Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh, SB19 debuted in 2018 and went viral in 2019 for their dance practice video for their song “Go Up.” Their fanbase has skyrocketed since, and the group became the first Filipino act nominated for Top Social Artist in the Billboard Music Awards. In 2022, they rose to the No. 1 spot in Billboard‘s Hot Trending Songs with their track “Bazinga”, becoming the first act ever to hold that No. 1 spot for seven weeks, surpassing BTS’ six-week record.
