Missing the lazy summer afternoons spent lounging at the beach? Taiwanese indie pop / alternative rock band Sunset Rollercoaster (落日飛車) is bringing the sounds of summer nostalgia to 26 venues across North America and Australia this October and November on their Infinity Sunset tour.
The band members, Kuo-Hung Tseng (vocals and guitar), Hung-Li Chen (bass), Shao-Hsuan Wang (keyboard), Tsun-Lung Lo (drums), and Shih-Wei Huang (percussion), came together in 2009 as friends who just wanted to have fun making music. Following the release of their 2016 EP, Jinji Kikko, the garage-punk band started to receive international acclaim while gaining a sizable following on streaming sites. Despite their humble beginnings, Sunset Rollercoaster won Best Band at Taiwan’s Golden Melody Awards 2021 for their latest album, Soft Storm, which fuses a futuristic edge to their signature synthwave, 80s city pop inspired sound and features collaborators Oh Hyuk and Michael Seyer.
