Experimental band Son Lux is now on tour across North America to perform in nearly 30 cities, before kicking off the European leg of their world tour. The North American tour kicked off in April in Iowa City and will wrap in June in Chicago.
Son Lux started in 2008 as a one-man band featuring Ryan Lott, a composer, keyboardist, and vocalist, and his experimental, genre-defying sound expanded to include Ian Chang on drums and Rafiq Bhatia on guitar in 2015. Over the past three years, Son Lux composed and recorded the score for the philosophical, sci-fi action film Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The trio’s extensive discography showcases their avant-garde, electronic-instrumental sound and features a wide array of collaborations with artists like Mitski, Lorde, and David Byrne. In their own words, the band strives to deliver “emotional, surprising, and challenging ” live performances that engage the “body, the mind, and that which lies in between.”
