Self-described as a “commercial-indie band,” ADOY’s debut in 2017 caught the attention of listeners worldwide with their dreamy, bedroom pop sound. Prior to forming ADOY, the members, Oh Juhwan (vocals and guitar), Zee (synths), Jung Dayoung (bass and vocals), and Park Geunchang (drums) were part of other bands.
ADOY’s city pop-adjacent, synth driven melodies continue in their latest album, her. Hoping to reach their fans, their initial list of stops included 15 cities across North America in the US and Canada. However, due to travel restrictions, ADOY had to limit their tour dates in the US and made the announcement in mid-February on Instagram.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time it’s happened to ADOY. In 2020 they had to cancel the second leg of their Asian tour and played an entire concert “in front of no one somewhere here in Korea” for the fans they were unable to meet that year. Nonetheless, the band is ready to give their fans an unforgettable show for the five US shows they have planned for 2022.
