Jenny Li After a break in 2020, Outside Lands is returning to Golden Gate Park this year on Halloween weekend. Fans are eager to experience many of these acts live once again, with headliners including Tame Impala, Vampire Weekend, and Glass Animals. 21-year-old Bay Area native Maia, most widely known by her artist name mxmtoon, returns to perform at the music festival on Sunday, October 31st.
In the three years since she self-released her EP Plum Blossom, Maia has made a name for herself in the indie pop scene, amassing over 6 million monthly listeners on Spotify to date. With a ukulele as her main instrument of choice, Maia’s lyrics are genuinely relatable, and her songs emotionally embody her experiences as a young adult. Starting out with recording and playing songs in her bedroom, Maia has now toured across the world and she will soon be stepping onto the stage at Outside Lands to a sea of excited fans at the end of this month.
