Following the release of their second album [USA] in late October 2019, four-piece group Anamanaguchi has been taking their music on tour across North America and Europe. In 2020, the band has plans to perform in 31 cities including Los Angeles and Paris. Taking the Anamanaguchi experience to the next level, the group is holding an “expo” before select shows, where attendees can enjoy activities like games, food, karaoke, and a panel. Check out what went down at the [USA] Expo in Austin here.
APA last spoke with the group in 2015 at JPOP Summit when we had early discussions about the concept for [USA] and the role of Japanese pop culture in their music. While [USA] comes six years after their previous album Endless Fantasy, Anamanaguchi has been active, participating at major Japanese pop culture events in the U.S. such as Anime Expo and opening for virtual pop star Hatsune Miku.
