Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest Returns This Fall

The Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest returns once again this year with its opening night on November 1, 2019 at the CinéArts in San Jose’s Santana Row. Organized by a team of volunteers, the SVAP FilmFest (formerly known as the San Jose J-Town FilmFest) has been running since 2015 and showcases independent films from the AAPI community. The 2019 lineup includes an array of award-winning shorts and feature-length films. From historical documentaries on important political figures like Norman Mineta and Mayor Ed Lee to comedies about the millennial dating scene, this year’s event will highlight a wide range of Asian-American stories. The night will also include Q&A sessions with the directors and producers of these films, giving audiences the chance to interact directly with the creators of these works.

Attendees can purchase a festival pass or tickets for specific screenings here. For the full schedule of films during the three-day event, visit the SVAP website.
