Anime Los Angeles 2016: Overview and Cosplay Slideshow

One of SoCal’s best, fan focused anime conventions is better than ever after its move to the Ontario Convention Center.

Anime Los Angeles has always been of the best small anime conventions due to its emphasis on providing a fan and family friendly convention experience. The steady growth in attendance made it necessary for the convention to move from its previous location, the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, to the Ontario Convention Center this year. The move was very well received as the convention had outgrown the Marriot, making the hallways and meeting areas incredibly crowded during ALA 2015. Having ALA 2016 at the convention center and the nearby Radisson hotel gave attendee plenty of space to enjoy the convention, as well as expand ALA favorites such as the vendor hall, the gaming room, and the ever popular con suite. The convention staff and volunteers were also very polite and accomadating, making it a pleasant experience.

The move also gives the convention ample space to transition into a larger scale event. One potential area of improvement is to expand the programming and bring in more high profile guests from Japan. Overall, ALA 2016 brought some much needed space and looks poised to grow into bigger, better convention in the years to come.
